Privacy Policy

PackGoat is a local-first, account-free app. Your trips, packing lists, templates, and preferences are stored locally on your device using Apple's system storage. By default, no personal data leaves your device. The app does use analytics and subscription services that may collect usage data automatically — see Service Providers below.

We do not collect: your name, email address, phone number, precise location, or contacts. No account is required to use PackGoat.

For a better experience while using our Service, the app does use third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Links to the privacy policies of third-party service providers used by the app:

Sharing is always initiated by you. When you share a trip, the trip data is uploaded temporarily to our backend, a unique share link is generated, and the data is only accessible via that specific link. Shared data is not linked to any user identity, is not discoverable or searchable, and is automatically deleted within 14 days.

Shared links use secure HTTPS connections and Universal Links to open directly in the app when installed.

Whenever you use our Service, in the case of an error in the app, we collect data and information (through third-party products) on your device called Log Data. This Log Data may include information such as your device Internet Protocol ("IP") address, device name, operating system version, the configuration of the app when utilizing our Service, the time and date of your use of the Service, and other statistics.

Note that IP addresses collected by third-party analytics services (such as Mixpanel) may be used to derive approximate geographic location.

We may employ third-party companies and individuals for the following reasons: to facilitate our Service, to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services, or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.

These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.

PackGoat uses the following services:

• Apple — App Store, system services, and iCloud
• Supabase — Temporary sharing backend
• Mixpanel — Analytics
• RevenueCat — Subscription management
• Unsplash — Trip cover images. When you browse or select a cover image, the app fetches images from Unsplash's servers, which may result in Unsplash logging your IP address.

We do not use advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking services.

PackGoat stores your data locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you have iCloud enabled, your app data may sync across your devices via iCloud. Your data will also be included in iCloud Backup unless you have disabled it in your device settings.

Apple governs how your data is handled in iCloud. Please refer to Apple's Privacy Policy for details.

PackGoat includes AI-powered features that run entirely on your device. These features do not require an internet connection, do not transmit any data off your device, and process everything locally.

We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information, thus we are striving to use commercially acceptable means of protecting it. All data transmitted to backend services uses encrypted HTTPS connections. Backend access is restricted to server-side logic only. But remember that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and reliable, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

These Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. In the case we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so that we can take necessary actions.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page.
